(NYSE: SY), the global leader in mobile messaging services, today announced that it has been selected by Firefly, Malaysia’s first community airline and subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, to enable the airline to send mobile flight information to its passengers, wherever they are, regardless of country of origin or mobile operator.

Sybase 365 Application Manager also provides Firefly with a cost-effective and efficient channel to communicate with their passengers, dramatically reducing airport waiting times and leading to high customer satisfaction.

SMS updates advising passengers of flight schedule changes, cancellations, pre-flight reminders, and even weather forecasts are sent to the passenger’s mobile phone.
