FRANKFURT/MARKDORF; May 2008 – Accenture (NYSE:ACN) and TechniData, a leading supplier of compliance management solutions in the areas of product, environmental, chemical and health & safety, will develop global environmental, health and safety (EH&S) solutions for chemical companies to help them comply with regulations such as REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances), a European Community regulation on the safe use of chemicals.

Accenture and TechniData will help companies reduce time and costs to ensure compliance through pre-packaging and pre-integration of EH&S processes, based on TechniData’s technical know-how and solutions and Accenture’s proven SAP best practice solutions and deep industry experience. Together, Accenture and TechniData will offer, among other solutions, a SAP-based chemical industry template extended to address EH&S concerns related to business processes covered by regulatory requirements for product and workplace safety and hazardous materials as well as REACH.

As part of its enterprise solution for chemical companies, Accenture has developed a template built on “SAP best practices for chemicals” which allows for an effective and cost-efficient implementation of an ERP platform for the chemical industry. TechniData has pursued the same approach with its ISI-STEP offer for SAP EH&S. In addition, TechniData offers a SaaS (Software as a Service) portfolio to support small and medium sized businesses to be compliant in a cost-effective matter.

Accenture will provide management consulting, system integration and application management services both on site as well as through its Global Delivery Network which includes 50 centers worldwide while TechniData will provide system integration and data collection services for chemical companies.

“A close integration of Accenture and TechniData templates will speed up implementation, enabling customers to benefit from both companies best practices and deep industry acumen,” said Theo Jan Simons, senior executive and Accenture’s global chemical industry group lead.

“Both companies have a strong customer base in the industry overall and in the process-oriented industries such as chemicals in particular,” said Jürgen Schwab, CEO of TechniData. “Accenture will focus on customer consulting, while TechniData will leverage its EH&S solutions know-how.”
