Camela Galano Named President, New Line International Releasing

Highly respected international film executive and 20-year New Line veteran Camela Galano has been named President, New Line International Releasing, it was announced today by Richard Fox, Executive Vice President, International, Warner Bros.

In her new role, Galano will continue to oversee and manage the release of New Line films in over 120 international territories for Warner Bros. Pictures International (New Line previously sold off international rights to its films in many overseas territories). Galano will further oversee all matters relating to film, home video and television distribution for New Line’s slate of films outside of North America.

Galano will work with a streamlined team of executives from New Line International Releasing, which will include Elena Cahalan, Senior Vice President, International Affairs, Rob Remley, Senior Vice President, International Marketing and Distribution, and Tracy McCrory, Vice President, International Servicing. In addition, Galano will work closely with Warner Bros. Pictures International’s executives to pursue new film ventures utilizing her experience. Galano will report directly to Fox.

Over the course of her career at New Line Cinema, Galano has served in various capacities, primarily in international sales and marketing, in New York, London and Los Angeles. In 2001, she was named President, New Line International Releasing. Galano played a crucial role in New Line Cinema’s success, most notably in the record-breaking performance of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Galano also handled international distribution of such hits as Austin Powers, Blade, and Rush Hour franchises plus Seven and Wedding Crashers, among others. She also oversaw the company’s international home entertainment and television products.
