Technology CEO Council Names Motorola’s Edward Zander as Its New Chairman

Washington, D.C. – Dec. 7, 2005 – The Technology CEO Council announced today that Edward Zander, chairman and CEO of Motorola, Inc., (NYSE: MOT) was voted the Council’s new Chairman. Mr. Zander succeeds Craig Barrett, Chairman of Intel Corporation, who served as Chairman since October 2003.

Technology CEO Council companies generate over $300 billion in annual revenues and employ over 800,000 workers. Founded in 1989, its members include Mr. Zander; Mark V. Hurd, President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard Company; Joseph McGrath, President and CEO of Unisys Corporation; William Nuti, President and CEO of NCR Corporation; Paul Otellini, President and CEO, Intel; Samuel J. Palmisano, Chairman and CEO of IBM Corporation; Kevin B. Rollins, President and CEO of Dell Inc.; Michael R. Splinter, President and CEO of Applied Materials, Inc.; and, Joseph M. Tucci, President and CEO of EMC Corporation.

As chairman of the Technology CEO Council, Mr. Zander will work with the CEOs, chief technical officers and policy staff of the Council’s member companies to drive their vision among policy makers. The Council advances policies that foster innovation, economic growth and global competitiveness.

Mr. Zander became a member of the Council when he joined Motorola in 2004. He came to Motorola with over 25 years of experience in the technology industry and has successfully reorganized the company, overseen the introduction of several exciting new products and sharpened Motorola’s focus on innovation and operational efficiency. Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Zander held senior management positions at Silver Lake Partners, Sun Microsystems, Apollo Computer and Data General. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master’s Degree in business administration from Boston University.
