5-year, €3.3 million contract covers network services in 13 European countries

BT today announced the signature of a network services contract with Pioneer Europe NV, Pioneer’s European headquarters located in Melsele, Belgium which coordinates sales, marketing, logistics and distribution for all its European countries. The 5-year contract, worth €3.3 million, covers secure wide area network-services, providing a highly resilient IP network that connects 21 sites across Europe.

All business critical sites feature dual connections, offering fully dynamic failover. This enables Pioneer to maintain vital network connections at all times. Future developments will be to integrate mission critical data, voice traffic and video traffic on the network.

“BT’s technical fit against our requirements, excellent reference calls with existing customers, the seamless network integration with Pioneer Asia and the local support capabilities convinced us that BT was the ideal partner for us in Europe”, said David Cox, IT Infrastructure Project Manager – ITCC, Pioneer Europe NV.

Erik ter Horst, CFO and interim CEO of BT Benelux, added: “I am proud that Pioneer has chosen us above the fierce competition in the market. Today’s announced contract again proves our capability to provide customers with network based IT services, no matter where they are.”

The contract encompasses WAN-services such as MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching), IP VPN (Internet Protocol based Virtual Private Network), remote dial-in via MobileXpress (enables employees to work remotely), SAP gateway and interconnectivity with the Pioneer WAN in Asia Pacific.
