New Indoor Air Quality Course for Facility Managers

WEBWIRE

CHICAGO, Illinois (April 18, 2008) - A new training program has been developed to help facility managers deal with indoor air quality (IAQ) issues in their buildings. Today Indoor Sciences, Inc. launched a course that is approved and certified by the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) called the IAQA Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager (CIAQM) course.

In recent years, there has been increasing concern over indoor air quality and mold in commercial and institutional buildings. Facility managers are often tasked with solving IAQ and mold problems, but are unprepared and unequipped to make improvements. Complaints often get ignored and tensions flare as the problems persist.

The IAQA Certified Indoor Air Quality Manager Course launched today was designed to help facility managers diagnose simple IAQ problems, resolve them quickly and prevent them from ever occurring again. The course teaches students how to develop a site-specific IAQ Management Plan that will set procedures for improving the indoor environment.

According to Ian Cull, President of Indoor Sciences, Inc., “Many facility managers are now realizing that outside consultants are not always needed to make improvements to air quality. With quality training, in-house staff can make powerful changes costing little or no money.”

Jackie Myers, Training Coordinator is quoted as saying, “Many facility managers have taken general indoor air quality courses in the past. Now the IAQA and Indoor Sciences have a course specifically designed for their unique needs.”

The new course is available as both an online training program and on-site seminar for private groups. The training prepares students for an optional accredited certification by the American IAQ Council, called the Council-certified Indoor Air Quality Manager (CIAQM).

Indoor Sciences, Inc. is an approved Indoor Air Quality Association training provider based in Chicago, IL. The company offers online and on-site training related to indoor air quality. More information can be found at www.indoorsciences.com.
