HP today announced that it has been awarded a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement with the United States Air Force to deploy a breadth of HP single function and multifunction printers, services, supplies and management software.

HP was selected by the Air Force for its proven ability to assess and manage imaging and printing devices and processes on a global scale.

“HP empowers large businesses and organizations by providing high-performance technology that meets the printing and imaging needs of challenging environments,” said Jackie Wynn, vice president, Public Sector, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “Being selected by the United States Air Force, an organization that demands the highest standards of performance, is a true testament that we continue to produce and deliver innovative, comprehensive and reliable solutions for our customers around the world.”

The Air Force is deploying a three-phase Digital Printing and Imaging initiative, which will be based on five key elements of its imaging and printing environment, including savings, security, standardization, simplification and streamlining.

Under this initiative, HP will help the Air Force achieve its goals and objectives by assessing its imaging and printing infrastructure and providing the tools and consulting needed to simplify and streamline its printing environment, while offering more security options and reducing overall total cost of ownership.

Working with HP and other vendors, the Air Force estimates that purchases of imaging and printing products and services over the five-year period will exceed $400 million.

HP provides public sector and enterprise customers a complete portfolio of intelligent devices, supplies, solutions and services. HP consults with customers to understand their operational challenges and help them build a plan to optimize their imaging and printing infrastructures, to manage, secure and simplify printing environments, and to digitize and streamline document-intensive processes to improve workflows.
