Logitech to Provide Skype-Certified Webcams and Headsets

FREMONT, Calif. and LUXEMBOURG — Dec. 1, 2005 — Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), the world´s leading manufacturer of webcams, and Skype, a global Internet communications company, today announced that they have teamed up to bring free video calling to Skype users worldwide.

The Skype video feature, part of the beta version of Skype 2.0, was released today for evaluation by the Skype community. Logitech and Skype worked in concert to certify Logitech´s QuickCam® webcams and PC headsets for use with the newly announced Skype Video feature, ensuring that Skype Video and the features of Logitech´s webcams provide a superior experience for Skype users. Logitech worked closely with Skype on usability and performance, to ensure people experience fully synchronized, high-quality video and audio communications over the Internet. Skype Video, which includes a full-screen video mode, is an integrated part of Skype 2.0 and is available for free at www.skype.com.

The two companies plan to jointly market Skype Video and Logitech webcams and headsets worldwide, engaging in regional promotions and direct outreach to Logitech customers and the Skype community. Skype will offer select Skype-certified Logitech webcams and headsets for sale through its online store.

“We are delighted to team up with Skype to bring video to Skype users worldwide,” said Junien Labrousse, Logitech senior vice president of the Entertainment and Communications Business Unit. “In a very brief period of time, Skype has brought Internet calling into the mainstream, across the globe. We´re confident that Skype will bring similar momentum to video calling, as consumers will see how useful and easy it can be. And we believe our lineup of webcams and headsets is the perfect complement to Skype Video.”

“Logitech is a recognized leader in webcams, and has been a pioneer in the use of video for Internet communications,” said James Bilefield, vice president of business development, Skype. “We have an insightful and advantageous relationship with Logitech, and we look forward to working together on this new feature for Skype customers.”
