Entergy Crews Complete Bulk of Power Restoration in Arkansas

Little Rock, Ark. – Entergy Arkansas, Inc power crews have completed the mammoth task of restoring electric service to 45,000 customers following a barrage of powerful thunderstorms and tornados swept through central Arkansas Thursday night. As of Sunday night fewer than 150 customers remained without power.

Entergy Arkansas crews, with the assistance of workers from Entergy Texas, Inc. and a cadre of contract workers, worked long hours Friday, Saturday and Sunday to rebuild electric distribution infrastructure that was destroyed by the storms. More than 60 utility poles, 100 crossarms and 125 spans of wire were knocked down. The hardest hit areas were Little Rock, Hot Springs, Cabot, Jacksonville and Conway. In Little Rock the neighborhoods of Cammack Village and Leawood suffered extensive damage.
