Multi-Technology Measurement Performance and Multi-Band Flexibility Combine to Increase Efficiency for Wireless Service Providers

LAS VEGAS.-Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced six new models for its W1314A measurement receiver platform that offer expanded band coverage. They are designed to simultaneously measure all wireless technologies in all RF bands in a given market using a single unit.

The Agilent receivers enable network equipment manufacturers and wireless operators’ RF engineering teams to effectively deploy, optimize and troubleshoot all technologies in their own networks by quickly identifying coverage and interference problems. In addition, they offer the ability to assess how all competitive networks in the market compare from an overall coverage perspective, regardless of the technology they use.

Specialist measurements for UMTS, CDMA2000, 1xEVDO, GSM, iDEN and Mobile WiMAX(tm) technologies and CW, Spectrum Analysis can all be measured simultaneously on any of the RF bands supported with any of the following receivers:

* W1314A-E02 - 2500/2600/2100DL/1900DL/900DL/iden900DL/850DL/iden800DL
* W1314A-E03 - 2500/2600/2100DL/1900UL/1900DL/1700UL/850UL/850DL
* W1314A-E04 - 3800/3700/3600/3500/2600/2100DL/1800DL/900DL
* W1314A-E05 - 3800/3700/3600/3500/1900DL/1800DL/900DL/850DL
* W1314A-E06 - 2500/2600/2100DL/2100TDD/1700DL/JCDMA900DL/JCDMA800DL
* W1314A-E07 - 2100DL/1900DL/1800DL/900DL/850DL/2100UL/1800UL/850UL

Even in the most challenging environments, where it is difficult to see the sky, such as urban canyons and underground roadways, Agilent’s integrated 50 Channel High Sensitivity GPS receiver maintains the unparalleled performance in reporting position and measurement data.

As hardware and operational budgets are squeezed from every angle, it is important to maximize the efficiency of drive test teams by providing reliable equipment that allows them to collect accurate RF measurement data with the minimum of hardware complexity.

“As wireless networks add more technologies in more bands, and providers have the same or fewer number of people to do the work, Agilent’s objective is to arm them with RF optimization tools that help them do their jobs easier and faster,” said Jonathan Dunbar, general manager of Agilent’s Drive Test business. “With our ability to measure multiple technologies simultaneously and cover eight bands in a single unit, our new receivers bring wireless service providers the opportunity for a step function increase in drive-test efficiency.”

Benefits of the Agilent W1314A-Exx receivers include:

* the ability to quickly troubleshoot handover and missing-neighbor issues, confirm coverage and pinpoint interference sources;
* simultaneous monitoring of multi-band and multi-technology networks using a single compact solution by supporting up to eight frequency bands with both uplink and downlink configurations;
* strength to withstand the rough environment of field-based testing, balanced with a small size for easy carrying; and
* significantly enhanced position-reporting, a built-in, high-sensitivity GPS that offers performance in dense urban environments and in many indoor situations.

Availability

The Agilent W1314A-E02-E07 receivers will be available in May 2008. More information about the W1314A can be found at www.agilent.com/find/e6474a.
