Cummins Filtration Launches Replaceable Centrifuge Rotor for Servicing Spinner II Assemblies

NASHVILLE, TENN— Cummins Filtration, the leader in filtration, exhaust, coolant and fuel additive technology for all engine-powered systems, today announced the introduction of the Fleetguard® replaceable centrifuge rotor for servicing Spinner II™* Model 936 and Model 960 centrifugal oil filtration assemblies.

The new Fleetguard replaceable service rotors, which feature SpiraTec™ technology, have high contaminant-holding capacity and work within the Spinner II to separate sub-micron particles including soot and sludge from the lube oil system.

“Field tests and customer testimonies indicate that servicing a Spinner II centrifuge in trucks and transit applications can be extremely time-consuming and very messy, involving manual cleaning and cleaning supplies,” said Neha Takawale, Lube and Centrifuge Global Product Manager for Cummins Filtration. “With the new Fleetguard replaceable centrifuge rotor, service time is reduced to less than half and labor costs are dramatically reduced without any sacrifice to performance.”

Service requirements for Spinner II assemblies can take up to 20 minutes or longer in a maintenance bay and involve the use of a replaceable paper insert, a housing seal cover (O-ring), disassembly tools, cleaning supplies and skilled labor. The Fleetguard replaceable rotor allows for quick and simple service with contaminant removal comparable to the standard Spinner II rotor assembly.

The Fleetguard CS41009, designed to fit the Spinner II 960 assembly, features a flow rate of 2 gpm and is completely disposable and incinerable. The Fleetguard CS41017, designed to fit Spinner II 936 assembly, is also completely disposable and incinerable with a flow rate of 1 gpm. Spinner II centrifuge applications include heavy duty, light and medium duty trucks, buses and transit vehicles.
