New 4x4 Matrix for HDMI from Gefen Enables the Long Distance Delivery of Multiple HDMI Signals over CAT-5 Cables for Easy System Integration Throughout the Home

Orlando, FL -- Connectivity solutions provider Gefen shows its 4x4 HDMI CAT-5 Matrix at EHX. This new integrated solution enables a plug and play connection between multiple HDTV sources and displays, with the ability to extend each signal over industry-standard CAT-5 cable.

Up to 150 feet can be traversed between each source and display using the 4x4 HDMI CAT-5 Matrix from Gefen. The rack mountable unit’s four HDMI inputs enable the direct connection of game consoles, set-top boxes and Blu-Ray players. The Matrix comes with four HDMI outputs for a local connection to any four HDMI displays or projectors, but also supplies four CAT-5 cable outputs.

The CAT-5 cable outputs each connect to an individual receiver that may be placed up to 150 feet away. The receiver supplies an HDMI connection that links directly to a remote display or projector for the instant delivery of HDMI audio and video. Each remote receiver comes with a IR control system that enables the long distance control of all four sources from each remote location.

In operation, the Gefen 4x4 HDMI CAT-5 Matrix is a plug and play device. The system is fully HDCP compliant, offers support for high definition resolutions to 1080p at 150 feet, and 1080i at 330 feet.

Each of the four connected sources may be viewed at any time on one of the four connected displays or projectors, with control accessible from all four remote locations. It also comes with an RS-232 port on both the matrix and all four receivers for integration with smart control devices.

The Gefen 4x4 HDMI CAT-5 Matrix comes with four receiver units with IR remote capability, a master IR
remote control, four six-foot HDMI connection cables, four power supplies for remote locations and rack ears for mounting.
