Next, Kazuhiko Masuda, president of MediaFLO Japan Planning Inc., and Masahiko Yabuki, president of Softbank’s Mobile Media Planning Corp., will provide an update about their respective MediaFLO planning and commercialization activities. Additionally, Mr. Mamoru Yano of Media Scope Inc. will share his perspective on the new MediaFLO mobile TV pilot project in Shimane prefecture for the Specified Ubiquitous Districts.

For the first time this year, the MediaFLO Conference will include a product showcase featuring companies demonstrating a variety of MediaFLO products and services during the reception beginning at 17:30. Participating companies include Anritsu Corporation, Leader Electronics Corporation, Maspro Denkoh Corporation, Packet Video, Rohde & Schwarz, Roundbox / CTC and Qualcomm.

“Following the success of the inaugural MediaFLO Conference in June 2007, Qualcomm is delighted to hold the second annual event in Tokyo to share the progress being made as members of the MediaFLO ecosystem advance on the path towards global commercialization. This year, Qualcomm is especially pleased to announce that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has selected three MediaFLO pilot projects for the Specified Ubiquitous Districts, and we are very excited about having its representative speak at the conference,” said Neville Meijers, senior vice president and general manager, MediaFLO Technologies. “This event provides an opportunity for Qualcomm and its partners to demonstrate both the exceptional performance of the MediaFLO platform in a real world setting and the substantial business benefits that the technology enables.”
