Shoppers Wrap Up Savings via Promotions on #1 Selling MIMO-G RangeMax Wireless Product Family; Free NIC, iPod® nano, iPod shuffle, and Songs from iTunes® with Purchase of ProSafe Switches, Wireless Access Points and VPN Firewalls for Business

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — November 21, 2005 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTGR), a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, is celebrating the upcoming holiday season with promotions in the U.S. offering significant savings on popular products for homes as well as small- and medium-sized business. These promotions encourage even more users to extend and enhance their wireless experience with the industry’s #1 selling MIMO-G products, NETGEAR’s RangeMax™ family of Smart MIMO wireless offerings for extended-range, higher-speed wireless networking. Shoppers who purchase NETGEAR ProSafe™ products for businesses, including Managed and Smart Switches, Wired and Wireless VPN Firewalls, and Wireless Access Points, are eligible for free products such as a NETGEAR network interface card (NIC), an iPod nano, an iPod shuffle, and songs from iTunes. All promotions run through December 31, 2005, variously at participating retail, direct market reseller, value added resellers, and e-commerce partners.

“The holidays are a time for families, friends, and colleagues to connect, and connecting people is NETGEAR’s mission,” said Patrick Lo, NETGEAR’s chairman and chief executive officer. “It’s the perfect time for families to consider expanding their home networks, or moving to wireless solutions, but it’s also when many small businesses look to find reliable, affordable ways to upgrade their infrastructure before the New Year. For that reason, our seasonal sales promotions cover a wide variety of our reliable, high-performance networking solutions for businesses in addition to our stylish networking innovations for the home.”

NETGEAR is offering two promotions to enable consumers to experience the full benefits of its best-selling RangeMax product family with Smart MIMO technology.

Under NETGEAR’s “Trade Up to RangeMax” Program, consumers who purchase a new RangeMax Wireless Access Point (WPN802) or RangeMax Wireless Router (WPN824) are eligible to receive a free RangeMax Wireless Adapter as a trade-in for their existing old wireless access point or router of any brand. Shoppers can choose from three NETGEAR RangeMax wireless adapters for desktop and notebook PCs as his/her gift, each a $100 value — RangeMax Wireless PC Card (WPN511), RangeMax Wireless PCI Adapter (WPN311), or RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (WPN111).

With the purchase of a RangeMax Wireless Router or RangeMax Wireless Access Point, customers can also “Get in-Tune for the Holidays” and receive five free songs from iTunes.

NETGEAR’s RangeMax routers and access points offer a unique capability to dynamically sense the environment and select from over 100 possible antenna configurations, eliminating Wi-Fi dead spots and optimizing the wireless connection to each client for the fastest and most stable connection available. While RangeMax provides performance increases of up to 50 percent for existing standards-based 802.11g, 802.11b/g and Atheros® Super G® products, a full RangeMax solution including adapters can deliver up to 10 times the coverage and speed of standard 802.11g-based solutions.*

NETGEAR is also creating a holiday mood for small and medium-sized businesses through four different promotions covering many of its award-winning business products:

* The “Get in-Tune for the Holidays” promotion applies as well to NETGEAR’s business products, offering customers from five to 30 free songs from iTunes with the purchase of select ProSafe Unmanaged Desktop or Rackmount Switches, or ProSafe VPN Firewalls.
* The “Spread the Holiday Cheer” promotion offers a free iPod nano with the purchase of ProSafe Layer 3 Switches.
* Buyers can “Shuffle through the Holiday” with a free iPod shuffle after purchasing select ProSafe Layer 2 Managed or Smart Switches.
* The “Extend Your Holiday” promotion entitles shoppers to a free NETGEAR network interface card (NIC) with the purchase of select ProSafe Wireless Access Points or Unmanaged Gigabit Desktop Switches.
