Rhodia committed to the integration of young people

WEBWIRE

Rhodia today signed a “national commitment for the integration of young people from city suburbs into the world of work” with the French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Employment. Under this agreement, Rhodia will undertake to help young people from such urban areas, especially in the Lyon and Paris regions, that suffer from high unemployment to discover the company, stimulate their interest in its activities and help facilitate their access to employment.

This commitment forms part of the “Hope for the Suburbs Program” launched by the French government which aims to encourage employment of young people from these urban areas.

This initiative is in line with the social responsibility approach adopted by Rhodia in December 2007 when it signed the first Social Responsibility Charter with employment agencies Adecco and Adia. It is also another illustration of the Group’s active involvement in the promotion of Sustainable Development.

Rhodia has already taken an active part over the past few years in the organization of events around Paris and Lyons designed to familiarize young people with careers and career opportunities in the chemical industry.
