Cyclone and EMEA Selected as Finalist in the Information Management 2004 Awards

WEBWIRE

FLEET, UK -- 12/10/2004 -- Cyclone Commerce today announced that it has been jointly selected as a finalist with its customer the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) in the London-based Information Management 2004 Awards, the most widely recognised symbol of excellence and innovation in the management of business information and knowledge.

The EMEA was established in 1995 and promotes and protects public and animal health in the European Union (EU) by helping safe and effective medicinal products reach the market in a timely way and by monitoring these products for continued safety after they are in use. In its effort to increase patient and animal safety, the EMEA set up a communications network in the EU based on the Cyclone Gateway solution.

In less than 36 months all Competent Authorities and 30 of the largest pharmaceutical companies are connected in the EU for the electronic transmission, storage and scientific evaluation of adverse reactions related to medicinal products.

“The Cyclone team are honoured to be selected as a finalist for this prestigious award,” said Phil Myers, president & CEO of Cyclone Commerce. “We are likewise proud to be working with the EMEA, an organisation whose vision and management of technology has materially increased patient safety throughout the European Union.”

The awards are a showcase for organisations that have demonstrated the vision and the business skills to implement new technology to reap real business benefits. Cyclone has been selected as a finalist in the category of B2B Commerce Project Award for the most innovative and successful business-to-business electronic commerce project.

Cyclone’s innovation was honoured this year by research analyst firm Gartner, The Governor of Arizona, and earlier by technology publications Computerworld and Upside.
