SACRAMENTO, California—February 10, 2008—As if a free service that connects solo travelers through common travel plans isn’t great enough, now that same service offers the chance for a traveler to connect with a group to travel with. YowTRIP is an online social network that enables its members to find a travel buddy, a free place to stay, and a local to show them the city. Then they can post photos, videos and travel logs for their friends and family to tag along via cyberspace. Recently, YowTRIP founder Felipe Coimbra announced YowTRIP’s newest feature — YowGROUPS.

YowGROUPS caters to travelers who may not be up for going alone. YowTRIP members can meet other travelers who are interested in going to the same places they are ... and just like that, they have a traveling companion, or a group of them, with whom to plan their next dream vacation! Members can either create a group or search for existing groups that are going skiing, to the beach, hiking, gambling, and much more.

“It’s a great way to explore places you’ve always wanted to and make new friends along the way,” says Coimbra.

Coimbra announced YowGROUPS at the recent Boulder, Colo. New Tech Meetup, and he has been invited to present and demonstrate YowTRIP to other new technology enthusiasts in San Francisco at the SF New Tech Meetup on February 13.

Launched in September 2007, YowTRIP has been featured in several newspapers, TV shows and blogs around the world.
