Atos Consulting publishes white paper illustrating a Performance Model to lead the transformation of Human Resources Management

Atos Consulting, the global consulting practice of Atos Origin, has released a White Paper in French entitled Fonction Ressources Humaines : tenir le Cap entre Convictions, Alignement et Performances. The publication presents a performance plan to transform the human resources management process, based on extensive company feedback and studies by Atos Consulting’s Observatoire International de la Fonction RH.

Found and coordinated by Atos Consulting, the Observatoire International de la Fonction RH is led by a steering committee representing fifteen of France’s 40 largest listed companies. Its research projects are intended to help define, benchmark and promote best practices in addressing today’s human resources issues and challenges. Initial programs have focused on HR department performance and the use of “preventive mobility” practices aligned with strategic HR roadmaps.

“We’ve found that faster organizational change can lead to a loss of meaning and direction,” says Pascal Nicaud, Atos Consulting Partner in charge of the Human Resources and Change Management practice. “That’s why we believe it’s very important to move forward within a structured, holistic framework to avoid an accumulation of stand-alone projects, driven by deadlines, events and legislation. The human resources department plays an increasingly pivotal role in a company’s organization, which means that HR absolutely has to be involved in the transformation process if you want to add value both to the business and to your human capital.”

Making human resources a proactive partner in a complex, shifting organization.
The human resources performance plan should be viewed as the template for a flight plan, complete with an instrument panel of indicators and controls to guide corporate decision processes. Thanks to this model—which is presented in detail in the new White Paper—a company can prepare its own road map defining all of its business processes (and not just HR), as well as their management and control systems. Depending on its strategy, objectives, culture, industry, size and other parameters, the company can adjust the indicators to efficiently manage its human resources process.

The White Paper is organized into three sections:

* Defining the scope of the human resources process and its challenges, putting the concept of performance in perspective.
* Deploying an operational performance plan, supported by real-world examples.
* Presenting a set of values and practices that enable the Human Resource Manager to successfully deploy the plan.
