Subscribers to benefit from high-speed data services over GPRS and EDGE technologies

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – November 17, 2005 - Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced a three-year frame agreement with MCT Corp. to expand the network of MCT’s joint venture COSCOM across Uzbekistan, including its capital Tashkent. The network deployment is currently underway and will continually increase COSCOM’s subscriber capacity and enable the operator to offer new high-speed data services to its subscribers.

The expanded network will cover 900/1800 MHz bands and incorporates Motorola’s Horizon II base stations that support GPRS and EDGE. In addition, Motorola will provide network optimization services across the network in Tashkent. The agreement, a portion of which will be financed by Motorola, builds on the company’s 10-year relationship with MCT and will allow for long term cooperation, with a strategic focus on expansion and smooth migration to new technologies for COSCOM.

Richard F. Seney, CEO of MCT commented, “This is a major agreement that will greatly enhance COSCOM’s service across Uzbekistan, a rapidly growing market. With this network expansion, COSCOM will be able to grow its current subscriber base and the quality and breadth of its service will increase with the utilization of EDGE and GPRS.”

Alexey Strepanov, general director, COSCOM said, “We are excited to see our partnership with Motorola develop in so many aspects for the benefit of both our companies. This new agreement will help COSCOM further strengthen its position in the Uzbek market for mobile communications. ?OSCOM is committed to long-term business relationships making the mobile market more appealing to all categories of subscribers. These relationships are based on high-quality services and customer care.”

Jose Figueroa, corporate vice president and regional manager, Motorola Networks EMEA said, “We have been working successfully with MCT in the region for a number of years and this contract for COSCOM’s network expansion further demonstrates our capabilities and commitment. The expansion of cutting edge wireless infrastructure to include Uzbekistan’s capital is particularly exciting, as the populous will greatly benefit from its service quality.”
