Express Solicitors in Northenden has created two new departments to meet a significant increase in demand for both specialist employment law and motoring law advice.

The employment law department will be headed by Colin Bushell (26) while Daniel Slade (27) will lead the new motoring law department from the firm’s headquarters at Resolution House, Palatine Road.

James Maxey, managing partner at Express Solicitors explains: “We have always dealt with personal injury claims but, as many of these are made as a result of accidents at work, we have increasingly been dealing with employment law related claims such as unfair dismissal and disability discrimination.

“In addition, there has been a huge increase in demand for defence against alleged driving offences. In recent years, the number of speed cameras has rocketed along with the number of motoring offences dealt with by official police action or penalty charge notice and Express Solicitors has been inundated with people seeking expert legal advice regarding offences such as speeding tickets, drink driving offences, driving without due care, traffic light offences and penalty points ban.

“There was also a requirement locally for solicitors who could offer a free initial consultation about employment law and motoring matters, in order to see if claims could be brought or defences made.

“Personal injury compensation claims will always remain the core of our business, but we have a wide range of expertise within the firm to create new departments, which will capitalise on new trends and helps us reach our target of £4 million turnover by 2009.”

Express Solicitors comprises 30 employees including two partners and 15 fee earners.
