U.S. Interior Designer Perla Lichi to Design Sarajevo Penthouse for Bosnia Soccer Star Emir Granov

Two-story residence located in Granov’s own exclusive Star Residence.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, January 25, 2008 – Perla Lichi Design, the internationally prominent interior design firm headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has been commissioned to design the home of Bosnia soccer star Emir Granov.
Over the course of his 15-year career Granov was engaged by many internationally famous soccer clubs in Portugal, Hungary and Spain, where he retired in 2002.
Many sports stars explore several options before deciding on a second career. But for Granov, whose family has been in the men’s fashion business for many generations, the choice was obvious. Upon retirement he re-joined Granoff Fashions, where today he continues an active role as General Director for this men’s fashion company with worldwide clientele and five exclusive stores in Bosnia and Herzegovina, four in Sarajevo and one in Mostar.
Recently in 2007, together with one of his former soccer team mates, Elvir Bolic, Granov decided to expand his interests to land development. Their initial effort, Star Residence, is an exclusive community in one of the most prestigious areas of Sarajevo, planned around two upscale mid-rise condominium buildings. A total of 26 flats are planned with amenities including pool, tennis court, squash court and gym.
Perla Lichi Design will create custom floors, ceilings, built-in cabinetry and furnishings and all the details to complete the interiors for Granov’s own two-story penthouse.
When asked to explain why he selected Ms. Lichi, Granov recalled that in 2001, during his time in Madrid, he came across a copy of Florida Design Magazine where he saw photos of an oceanside penthouse Ms. Lichi had designed. “I knew then that one day I would engage her services to design a home for me.”
He continued to follow her work tracking projects “that amazed me in every detail,” Granov said.
When Star Residence began taking shape, Granov visited the Perla Lichi website. “I was really skeptical that Perla would be able to come to work in B & H,” he explained. “I wrote asking if she would be interested in designing my penthouse and was delighted when Perla answered, yes, she would be able to come in conjunction with her business trip in Dubai.
“While in Sarajevo, my wife Alma and I were so delighted with Perla’s design ideas that we immediately signed the contract.”
