SAN DIEGO — November 15, 2005 — QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leader in digital wireless communications and advanced electronic messaging solutions for the Internet, today announced the commercial release of Eudora® 7 software, a new version of the popular email program for Windows® that includes an ultra-fast, indexed search which provides search result speeds of up to 20 times faster than previous versions. Also new, Eudora 7 introduces BossWatch, a feature that alerts users about the presence of designated addresses in recipient lists. IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) users will enjoy greatly increased performance as well as increased offline capabilities. For enterprise customers requiring greater email security, Eudora 7 adds the S/MIME (Secure Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions) plug-in capability.

The new ultra-fast search is powered by X1® Technologies. X1 Technologies’ embedded desktop search technology greatly accelerates the search process and results, while continuously keeping the search index up to date as email is created and received, allowing the user to find desired email content when they need it.

“Integrating X1’s powerful indexing search tool gives Eudora 7.0 lightning-fast email search and provides new and existing users greater functionality than ever before” said Bill Ganon, vice president of Eudora Products for QUALCOMM Internet Services. “Combined with the innovative BossWatch feature, Eudora 7 clearly delivers on our ongoing mission to help users deal with the ever-increasing volume of email.”

“We are very excited to be working with cutting-edge vendors like QUALCOMM who have decided to build value-added solutions for our X1 Desktop Search solution,” said Josh Jacobs, president, X1 Technologies. “We’re delighted to provide Eudora 7 users with a rich search experience that will enable them to be substantially more productive.”

“With email management taking up more and more of home and business users’ time, searching for emails can add minutes to each day and hours to every year,” said David Ferris, president and senior analyst, Ferris Research. “Eudora 7’s new search functionality has made great strides to help users find information quickly and more effectively.”

Eudora 7’s new BossWatch feature provides an extra level of awareness to the addresses in a recipient list. This can be particularly helpful when responding with “Reply All” to a recipient list that, for example includes colleagues and clients. For example, additional sensitivity or explanation may be warranted in addressing a client. BossWatch will alert the user to the presence of email addresses that are based on personal communication preferences. These addresses can be designated by name or domain. The magenta “Send” button text and underlined name in the recipient field will alert the user of the specified address in the reply list.

The IMAP mail protocol provides remote access to email, allowing review of headers as well as the ability to file and organize mail remotely. With Eudora 7, the multiple-computer or multiple-device IMAP user will now enjoy greatly increased performance and the ability to work offline.

Eudora 7 offers S/MIME plug-in functionality. The S/MIME personal email certificate allows users to secure email communications by digitally signing and encrypting emails. S/MIME certificates are available at www.thawte.com/email/inex.html.

Eudora 7 in Paid mode is available for $49.95 for new purchasers; $39.95 for previously paid registered users within 24 months from registration and no charge to users who purchased and registered the Paid mode of Eudora within 12 months.
