WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 24, 2008) – WorldNetDaily (WND), the Internet’s leading independent news site, has agreed to acquire publisher World Ahead Media, the Los Angeles-based company with which it partners on the WND Books imprint. During the past year alone, the imprint released a number of noteworthy titles, including the New York Times best-seller “The Late Great USA” by Jerome Corsi, “Stop the Presses” by Joseph Farah, “Target: Caught in the Crosshairs of Bill and Hillary Clinton” by Kathleen Willey, and “Schmoozing with Terrorists” by Aaron Klein.

Under the terms of the deal, World Ahead will become a wholly-owned subsidiary and change its name to WND Books. World Ahead CEO Eric M. Jackson will retain that title for WND Books, while assuming the position of executive vice president of strategy for the parent corporation. Norman Book, World Ahead’s vice president, will become WND’s executive vice president of operations. Joseph Farah, the founder and chief executive officer of WND, will retain his current position.

“This is an exciting moment for WND,” says Farah, whose news site averages 8 million unique visitors each month. “Not only does the acquisition mark the first major expansion for WND, but it represents a chance to join forces with some very talented people whom we greatly respect and who add a new dimension to our growing media company.”

“WND has become the Web’s leading independent news site thanks to the vision and persistence of Joseph Farah and his team,” notes Jackson, whose book about the rise of another Internet powerhouse, “The PayPal Wars,” won the 2005 Writers Notes Book Award. “This deal between World Ahead Media and WorldNetDaily creates a company that will continue to lead the New Media revolution.”

WND Books was founded in 2002 and made an immediate impact with the first in a series of NYT best-sellers, Michael Savage’s “The Savage Nation.” Among the more than 40 titles published by WND Books since then are “The Enemy Within,” also by Michael Savage, “The Marketing of Evil,” by David Kupelian, and “Atomic Iran,” by Dr. Jerome Corsi. World Ahead became the exclusive publisher of WND Books effective January 2007.

Since beginning operations in 2004, World Ahead has achieved several notable accomplishments. It has garnered multiple selections-of-the-month from book clubs, notched a #1 seller on Barnes & Noble’s website, and last year received NYT best-seller recognition for “The Late Great USA.” The company’s title selection and innovative marketing tactics have also earned it coverage on the front-page of the L.A. Times, and segments on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, and even Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”

In addition to uniting two innovative companies, the acquisition brings a pair of executives with Silicon Valley experience to the WND management team. Prior to founding World Ahead, Jackson oversaw marketing at PayPal, where he devised the key product strategy that enabled the online payment service to move from $10 million in monthly losses to profitability and an initial public offering in 2002. He served as PayPal’s senior director of U.S. marketing, as well as the interim vice president of marketing following its acquisition by eBay. Book also worked at PayPal, where he was a financial systems manager and played a key operational role in supporting the company’s IPO and subsequent acquisition.

WND Books will remain in Los Angeles. WND also has offices in Washington DC, Oregon, and Jerusalem.
