Alcatel-Lucent receives U.S. Government’s Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) approval on two metro optical products

LGS, a subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) dedicated to serving the U.S. government community, announced today that two Alcatel-Lucent products sold to the federal government by LGS, the Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX Data Multiplexer and 1665 DMXtend Multiplexer, were certified as interoperable with the Defense Switched Network (DSN) by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). As a result, these two metro optical products have been added to the DoD Approved Products List (APL).

The Alcatel-Lucent 1665 DMX and 1665 DMXtend are next-generation multiplexers designed for high-capacity voice, data and video transport. The Department of Defense and enterprises of all sizes throughout the United States deploy these products, giving these optical networks the ability to carry and interface with more cost-effective, next-generation Ethernet services.
