WEBWIRE

HP today announced it has been positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant in industry analyst firm Gartner Inc.’s Magic Quadrant reports.(1,2,3)

Gartner positioned HP in the leaders quadrant in the IT Event Correlation and Analysis, the PC Life Cycle Configuration Management and the Integrated SOA Governance Technology Sets Magic Quadrant reports.

According to Gartner, “Leaders” are vendors that are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.

IT Event Correlation and Analysis

HP Operations Center, which is part of the HP Business Service Management solution, was positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant for IT Event Correlation and Analysis.

HP Operations Center helps IT staff understand how infrastructure and server problems affect the business. It is used by more than 11,000 customers and sold by more than 600 partners globally.

Gartner defines IT event correlation and analysis products as helping “IT operations personnel contend with the deluge of events that come in from the IT infrastructure by eliminating duplicate event signals, filtering events according to operational or business priorities and analyzing events to determine root cause.”(1)

PC Life Cycle Configuration Management

HP Client Automation software, which is part of HP’s Business Service Automation solution, has been positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant for PC Life Cycle Configuration Management. HP Client Automation software enables automated management of client devices and associated change impacts to server and data center infrastructure.

According to Gartner, “the products in the PC Life Cycle Configuration Management market are used to lower the total cost of managing client systems, to reduce risks they pose to the business for security – malicious software (malware) prevention – and compliance (internal and regulatory guidelines) … In complex or highly scalable environments that are well-managed, automation offers significant cost reduction and efficiency that manual operations cannot accomplish because humans cannot scale.”(2)

Integrated SOA Governance Technology Sets

In Gartner’s evaluation of the Integrated SOA Governance Technology Sets market, HP has been positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant.(3) According to Gartner, “SOA governance is about ensuring and validating that assets and artifacts within the architecture are operating as expected and maintaining a certain level of quality.”(3)

HP SOA Systinet helps accelerate adoption and mitigate the risk of SOA with a rich set of governance capabilities. As the enterprise SOA “system of record,” it provides a foundation for visibility, trust and control into the SOA environment. With a focus on SOA governance, quality and management, HP Business Technology Optimization for SOA offerings and services help organizations plan, test, deploy, govern and manage SOA initiatives.

“HP is committed to delivering the industry’s best enterprise software to help our customers achieve maximum value from their IT investments,” said Ben Horowitz, vice president and general manager, Business Technology Optimization products, Software, HP. “To be positioned in the leaders quadrant by Gartner in these key markets is a great testament of our relentless focus on customers.”
