Alliant Energy and Iowa Pipeline Association offer pipeline awareness and education meetings for emergency responders

Alliant Energy – Interstate Power and Light Co. (IPL), an Alliant Energy company (NYSE: LNT) announced it will participate in the utility safety seminars for emergency responders in conjunction with the Iowa Pipeline Association.

Representatives from the Iowa Pipeline Association will provide detailed information on:

* How to keep emergency responders and the public safe when responding to a natural gas pipeline emergency;
* The types and characteristics of the products/materials transported through communities;
* The importance of Iowa One-Call; and
* How to contact owners/operators of natural gas pipelines that operate in Iowa.
