Two new user-friendly online tools cater to auto insurance shoppers

Allstate recently unveiled two new online interactive auto insurance-related tools on Allstate.com that answer common questions in plain English and help consumers better understand their insurance needs. Bumper-to-Bumper BasicsSM is an interactive, video-enhanced guide that quickly helps consumers assess their state-specific auto insurance needs, and Ballpark Estimator allows users to remain anonymous while obtaining an estimated auto insurance quote from Allstate.

“It is easy to save money on auto insurance, but is the coverage you bought enough? To help consumers answer this important question, Allstate created an online tool that identifies on a state-specific, individual basis, potential policy coverages and limits,” said Peggy Dyer, vice president, Marketing Growth and Development, Allstate. “Consumers who put together a coverage checklist before shopping ensure they are getting ’apples-to-apples’ quotes and covering their bases,” noted Dyer.

Upon entering Bumper-to-Bumper Basics, visitors are greeted by an interactive tour guide who helps users navigate through the site. After entering a residential zip code, the tool will help visitors identify their personal risk profile by asking a series of questions, such as: the age and purchase price of the car, whether or not they have health insurance, and if they own or rent their home. Upon completing the questions, a list of policy coverages are generated to give a clear picture of each visitor’s potential personal protection needs.

Bumper-to-Bumper Basics also defines insurance terms and provides examples, helping consumers understand: the difference between comprehensive and collision coverage, how to be financially protected from a covered accident caused by an uninsured motorist, and what bodily injury liability is vs. personal injury protection and other insurance topics.

Consumers also can utilize Ballpark Estimator on Allstate.com to quickly receive a price estimate for the auto insurance coverages highlighted in Bumper-to-Bumper Basics-without providing any personal information.
