Wyeth’s North Carolina Facilities Recognized as Leaders in Employee Protection and Safety by the North Carolina Department of Labor

Sanford, N.C.— Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, a division of Wyeth (NYSE: WYE), announced today that the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) has recognized the Sanford vaccine manufacturing and research facility and the research facility in Research Triangle Park as Carolina STAR sites.

The Carolina STAR program is the Occupational Safety and Health Department’s most prestigious program for general industry. It recognizes work sites that are self-sufficient in their ability to control hazards through comprehensive and successful safety and health programs and acknowledges those sites as leaders in employee protection.

Cherie K. Berry, Commissioner, NCDOL, presented the award to the employees of the Sanford facility at a ceremony today. Wyeth’s research facility in Research Triangle Park received the award on November 6, 2007.

Only 104 of the 230,000 employers in North Carolina have been recognized as Carolina STAR sites. Wyeth’s Sanford facility is the largest single-site employer to receive this honor.
