WEBWIRE

MONTREAL/TORONTO – With meteorologists predicting another winter storm this weekend in the Ontario-Quebec region, VIA Rail Canada wishes to advise travellers that it is prepared to handle the increased demand for train tickets. Holiday travel has already begun but there is still some capacity. Some 60 trains per day travel throughout the Windsor-Québec City Corridor and every available piece of equipment at VIA has been pressed in to service.

Passengers are advised to book as early as possible to ensure there is space on the train departure that best meets their schedule.

VIA is not anticipating any major delays as a result of the impending storm but travellers are advised to call ahead to confirm train departure and arrival times.

For more information or to book a ticket customers can call 1 888 VIA Rail (842-7245), 1800-268-9503 (hearing impaired). Tickets are also available at kiosks in major corridor stations or through your travel agent.
