CSC Wins $66 Million Navy Contract to Provide Program Management and IT Services Support

WEBWIRE

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a contract to provide program management and information technology (IT) services for the U.S. Navy’s Naval Network Warfare Command (NETWARCOM) Cyber Asset Reduction Security and Task Force (CARS TF) program. CSC estimates the value of the contract, which has a one-year base period and three one-year options, to be $66 million if all options are exercised.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will help improve the Navy’s IT security and systems interoperability, reduce its land-based IT infrastructure and increase the return on investment. CSC will provide project management, asset discovery and configuration, systems architecture, and system capacity and availability as they apply to the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet, the Navy’s connection to the Global Information Grid.

“We are honored that the Navy continues to count on us to apply our domain expertise to help improve performance, increase security and reduce costs,” said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector business unit. “The CARS TF program is significant to the NETWARCOM’s effort to drive the transition to enterprise networks, and CSC’s experience will help ensure sound operational results for the Navy.”

CSC will lead a team of subcontractors, including C4 Planning Solutions LLC, of Blythe, Ga., and Smartronix Inc., of Quantico, Va.
