Entropic Licenses MIPS32® 24Kc™ Core for Next-Generation Broadband and Residential Gateway Applications

MIPS Technologies, Inc., (NASDAQ: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard architectures, processor cores and analog IP for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, today announced that Entropic Communications, Inc. has licensed the MIPS32® 24KcTM synthesizable processor core for its next-generation broadband and residential gateway applications.

According to industry analyst firm Infonetics Research, annual broadband customer premise equipment (CPE) revenue will reach $6.2 billion by 2010, as service providers continue to bundle voice, data, video and wireless services to attract new customers and reduce churn among existing customers.
