Atlanta – December 11, 2007 – Entrigue Systems (www.scriptstart.com), a leader in managing user profile settings on physical, virtual, and thin-client Windows desktops, today announced the availability of Script Start Community 2.0.

Script Start enables administrators to manage, configure, and provision user settings on Windows desktops connected to any popular server OS such as Windows and Linux. The solution supports any method of Windows desktop delivery including virtual and physical PCs as well as thin-clients. Functionality includes the ability to map drives, install printers, configure Outlook settings and MAPI profiles, modify environment variables, adjust Internet proxy settings, configure RDP connections, publish applications via RDP, automatically customize client machines, and much more.

With newly added features, Script Start Community 2.0 represents the next generation of the company’s popular solution. The new version boasts a stand-alone product architecture that installs the Management Console to a local server vs. the Web hosted model that the company had used previously with Script Start Standard. Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 support have also been added.

“Script Start Community edition gives the community a proven Windows Desktop management solution. With our support for other leading Open Source technologies such as Linux, administrators will now have an powerful option to manage Windows desktops with a server OS other than Windows,” said Jon McDonald, CEO of Entrigue Systems. “The installation of Script Start is now very straight-forward, allowing administrators to get up-and-running in a matter of minutes to automate Windows desktop configuration processes that lower TCO from day one.”
“The availability of Script Start in a stand-alone version has been much anticipated by administrators and Systems Integrators,” said Jason E. Smith, VP of Business Development for Entrigue Systems. “Script Start is a must-have tool for organizations that need to automate configuration and user settings on new and existing Windows desktops regardless of how they are delivered.”

“Organizations provisioning desktops with technologies such as Citrix, Microsoft RDP, VMware, Symantec’s Ghost, and Acronis’ Snap Deploy can all stand to benefit from this solution,” added McDonald. “Once any Windows desktop has been provisioned the monumental task of configuring and maintaining user settings is where the real work begins. If you’re not using a solution like Script Start there is a lot of manual work involved that can be very time-consuming. The fact that this solution supports variations of Linux in addition to Windows Server is another huge plus for companies looking to streamline costs while retaining a flexible network architecture.”
