Occam Networks Named by Ironton Telephone Company to Upgrade DSL Network

Pennsylvania Telco to Upgrade Existing Equipment and Expand Capacity

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.– Occam Networks Inc. (NASDAQ: OCNW), a leading broadband access network supplier, announced today that Ironton Telephone Company is upgrading and expanding the capabilities of its DSL network with Occam’s Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) system. Ironton is headquartered in Coplay, Pa. and serves over 18,000 subscribers in eastern and central Pennsylvania.

Ironton has purchased Occam’s BLC 6214 ADSL2plus Blades with Gigabit Ethernet and integrated splitters, and BLC 6440-01 Optical Packet Transport Blades.

“We are replacing outdated equipment from another vendor with Occam’s BLC products as part of our strategy to provide Ethernet services for our business customers, as well as expand our current capacity for all customers,” said Timothy A. Hausman, director of network operations for Ironton Telephone. “Occam’s use of Ethernet technology is an important part of our plan to compete by building out bandwidth capabilities to deliver new services.”

Ironton Telephone offers its subscribers voice and DSL services. The company maintains partnerships with several Cable MSOs through which Ironton provides voice services as part of a comprehensive Triple Play package.
