9th annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition to visit Vancouver

RBC, The Canadian Art Foundation and the Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design (ECI) would like to invite you to preview the RBC Canadian Painting Competition Exhibition at a reception at the Emily Carr Institute Concourse Gallery, Granville Island, Vancouver on November 28, 2007. The exhibition features artwork from Eastern, Central and Western Canada.

Several artists from Western Canada, whose works form part of the exhibit, will be in attendance including:

* this year’s national winner and ECI graduate, Vancouver’s Arabella Campbell, who was awarded $25,000;
* Calgary’s Chris Millar who received an honourable mention and was awarded $15,000;
* ECI graduates Eli Bornowsky and Angus Ferguson, both of Vancouver;
* Shaun Morin of Winnipeg.

With a total of $55,000 in prize money, the RBC Canadian Painting Competition has Canada’s largest arts award disbursement for painting. The artists will be on hand to participate in one-on-one interviews.
