$6 Million Contract Strengthens Wireless Services and Provides Real-Time Tracking for Cargo at 85 Airports Nationwide

Tempe, Arizona.-AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced that US Airways has signed a two-year $6 million contract for AT&T to support a wireless solution that addresses US Airways’ cargo-tracking service needs at more than 85 airports nationwide.

In a deal that illustrates AT&T’s commitment to selling integrated wireless/wireline solutions, AT&T is adding wireless services to the mix of voice and Internet Protocol (IP)-based data and networking services that US Airways uses to run its domestic operations and call center. Overall, US Airways supports more than 3,800 flights a day and serves more than 230 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide US Airways with wireless services for a variety of critical business processes, including access to corporate e-mail through BlackBerry® and voice service for domestic and international corporate business travel. AT&T, which is the world’s leading provider of BlackBerry services, boasts the largest international wireless footprint of any U.S. carrier and gives customers the ability to access e-mail, browse the Web and perform other data applications in more than 135 countries, and customers can make or receive phone calls in more than 190 countries.

Additionally, US Airways will leverage the advantages of AT&T’s vast wireless network to provide real-time tracking data for its customers’ shipments. Through the use of hand-held barcode scanners connected wirelessly to the AT&T network, US Airways is able to provide up-to-the-minute, real-time tracking to its global shipping customers. AT&T provides similar services to several major U.S. airlines.

“In a move to optimize and improve our tracking of cargo shipments, we sought a reliable and consistent solution,” said Joe Beery, US Airways’ senior vice president and chief information officer. “AT&T brings the benefit of wireless advantages to the solution and enhances our agility and high-quality standards to our customer service philosophy.”

The agreement renews and expands a long-standing relationship between the two companies that spans more than 10 years.
