Leading IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Malaysia today announced seven Primergy rackmount, tower and blade servers for the Malaysia market.

Designed for Linux and Windows Server 2003 platforms, the new servers TX150 S6 tower server, TX200 S4 tower server, TX300 S4 tower server, RX100 S5 rackmount server, RX200 S4 rackmount server, RX300 S4 rackmount server and BX620 S4 blade server are powered by the dual-core quad-core XeonŽ series processors designed for high scalability, best-in-class virtualisation, cost savings and other benefits.

These XeonŽ processors are the first-ever processors to be manufactured on a 45 nanometer (nm) process, boasting nearly twice the transistor density of previous chips built on the 65nm technology therefore further boosting performance while also lowering power consumption.

The new Primergy servers are ideal for applications that demand superior performance, reliability, scalability and flexibility. Built for business continuity, the TX series is the ideal application server for use as branch system or departmental server for business critical applications with high availability needs. There are also additional applications for the new Primergy servers. They can be used for office solutions, database server, server for e-commerce applications or as a communication server for gateways, domains and firewalls.

The Primergy RX rackmount server series offers a flexible platform for data centers and server farm concepts, catering excellently for applications that demand maximum scalability, performance and availability in a space-saving rack cabinet.

Suited as an application server or a terminal server for CPU-intensive applications, the Primergy BX620 S4 blade server offers a platform for virtually any data center application with its large memory configuration and wide range of communication options.

The new Primergy offerings may be configured with:

* the Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (Serial ATA, or SATA) interface
* the Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface

Servers configured with the SATA interface incorporate SATA hard disk drives (HDDs) with a 3.5-inch form factor, while SAS-configured machines include SAS HDDs with a 2.5- or 3.5-inch form factor.

In addition, all SATA and SAS HDDs are hot-pluggable and, in tandem with fully-redundant fans and power supplies, enhance the servers’ reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) performance.

Combining the latest dual-core quad-core XeonŽ processors with Fujitsu cutting-edge architecture and design, the latest Primergy offerings are the ideal choice for enterprises that require the economic benefits and flexibility of industry-standard solutions without compromising business continuity.
