Bombardier Acknowledges Latest Findings Related To The October 27 Q400 Aircraft Main Landing Gear Incident

Bombardier acknowledges the latest findings from the Danish Accident Investigation Board (DAIB) related to the Bombardier Q400 aircraft main landing gear incident on October 27, 2007 at Copenhagen Airport.

“These latest findings clearly support Bombardier’s position that the Q400 is a safe and reliable aircraft. Airlines and other operators around the world continue to express their complete confidence in the Q400 turboprop and I thank them for their strong support,” said Steven Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Regional Aircraft.

“We have unwavering confidence in the Q400 aircraft and we stand by our product,” added Mr. Ridolfi. “We are concerned about the impact negative comments might have had on Bombardier and the Q400 turboprop’s reputation, and we will do all that is necessary to protect our brand, and by association, the reputation of our Q400 aircraft customers.”

Since entering service in February 2000, the Q400 turboprop has proven itself with over 160 aircraft currently in operation with 20 customers around the world. To date the fleet of Q400 aircraft has logged over one million flying hours and 1.2 million take off and landing cycles with a schedule completion rate of 99.4 percent.
