Citibank First Bank in China to Launch RMB Global Mutual Funds Offering under QDII Scheme

Fifteen Mutual Funds in Five Different Currencies Available to Chinese Residents

Shanghai – Citibank China Co., Ltd. (“Citibank”), in partnership with Schroder Investment Management Ltd. (“Schroders”), today announced the launch of six USD-denominated funds of the Schroder International Selection Fund (“Schroder ISF”) family. Citibank is also launching new QDII products that provide investment opportunities into nine other brand-new funds – five in Euro, two in Japanese Yen and two in Hong Kong Dollar. The launch sees Citibank become the first bank in China to offer RMB QDII products investing into global mutual funds.

The RMB QDII product investing into six USD-denominated funds are:

1. Schroder ISF US Dollar Liquidity – Provides liquidity and current income through investment in high quality short-term debt securities that are denominated in US Dollar.

2. Schroder ISF Global Bond – Provides a return of capital growth and income primarily through investment in a portfolio of bonds denominated in various currencies issued by governments, government agencies, supra-nationals and corporates worldwide.

3. Schroder ISF Emerging Market Debt – Provides a return of capital growth and income primarily through investment in a portfolio of bonds from issuers in the emerging markets.

4. Schroder ISF Global Energy – Provides capital growth through investment in securities of companies active in the energy sector.

5. Schroder ISF BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China) – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of Brazilian, Russian, Indian and Chinese companies.

6. Schroder ISF Global Equity Yield – Provides total return through investment in equities of companies worldwide that offer attractive yields and dividend payments.

The other nine new funds of the Schroder ISF family have been carefully selected and covering different asset categories, markets, sectors and currency denominations from which customers can select. They are:

1. Schroder ISF Hong Kong Equity – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of Hong Kong SAR companies.

2. Schroder ISF Hong Kong Dollar Bond – Provides a return of capital growth and income primarily through investment in a portfolio of bonds and other fixed and floating rate securities denominated in HK dollars and issued by governments, governments agencies, supra-national and corporate issuers worldwide.

3. Schroder ISF Euro Bond – Provides a return of capital growth and income primarily through investment in a portfolio of bonds and other fixed and floating rate securities denominated in EUR and issued by governments, governments agencies, supra-national and corporate issuers worldwide.

4. Schroder ISF Euro Dynamic Growth – Provides capital growth primarily through dynamic investment in a growth style biased portfolio of equity securities of companies in countries participating in the EMU and denominated in Euro.

5. Schroder ISF Euro Liquidity – Provides liquidity and current income, to the extent consistent with the preservation of capital, through investment in high quality short-term fixed income securities that are denominated in Euro.

6. Schroder ISF Euro Equity – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of companies in countries participating in EMU.

7. Schroder ISF Euro Equity Alpha – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of European companies. In order to achieve the objective the Investment Manager will invest in a select portfolio of securities, which it believes offer the best potential for future growth.

8. Schroder ISF Japanese Equity – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of Japanese companies.

9. Schroder ISF Japanese Smaller Companies – Provides capital growth primarily through investment in equity securities of smaller Japanese companies.

To date Citibank offers QDII products investment in a total of 15 funds: Two money market funds, four bonds funds and nine equity funds, in four currencies. “These QDII products present a full basket of selections of mutual funds for individual investors in China, from which they can build their own investment portfolio based on their own preference and risk appetite. We provide flexibility, liquidity and choice to help our customers to growth their wealth,” Mr. Selva said.

The Citibank QDII Product-Schroder International Selection Funds series are available to local Chinese residents only. It is available in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Hangzhou.
