Boston, MA October 22, 2007 – Active Broadband Networks, a pioneering developer of Subscriber Service Management Systems based upon the emerging IPDR standards, announces release 2.0 of the Active Resource Manager.

The Active Resource Manager collects, stores and processes IPDR records to provide subscriber service management. This new release includes support for Red Hat® Enterprise Linux®, introduces Business Intelligence functionality through the integration of ECLIPSE BIRT, and increased performance and functionality provided by PostgreSQL 8.2. “The need to support business intelligence functionality and Red Hat® Enterprise Linux® highlights our customers desire to transition IPDR usage from lab testing into production deployment”, said Adam Dunstan, President of Active Broadband Networks. “By taking the unusual step by providing a fully open reporting platform we unlock information collected by the Active Resource Manager and many other Operational Support Systems. Our customers can now correlate information from multiple sources into simple-to-understand reports critical to the management of large-scale broadband networks”.

Integration of ECLIPSE BIRT runtime delivers flexible reporting capabilities to the Active Resource Manager. The release contains number of new reports developed by Active Broadband Networks using the BIRT system including maximum subscriber throughput, system-wide subscriber usage averages, voice call tracking and CMTS delayed or discarded packets. Using the BIRT report designer existing reports can be modified and new reports quickly developed. In addition to accessing data on the Active Resource Manager, BIRT report designer can access other databases, web services, XML or other sources of data, and create combined reports that transform, correlate and present information in tables, charts and other forms.
