Alcatel-Lucent demonstrates technology leadership at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007

Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced its plans to demonstrate its technology leadership at the upcoming Broadband World Forum Europe 2007, taking place at the Estrel Convention Center in Berlin, Germany, between October 8th and 11th. The Alcatel-Lucent booth (#3002) will feature a wide range of demonstrations and solutions that show how the company can help service providers navigate a fast-changing industry landscape with its comprehensive portfolio of products and solutions and experienced global services team. Visitors to the Alcatel-Lucent booth will also see how the company enriches people’s lives by transforming the way the world communicates.

Alcatel-Lucent has consistently been acknowledged as the market leader in broadband access. At the beginning of 2007, industry analyst firm Dell’Oro again confirmed the company’s worldwide leadership in the DSL market, with 126 million DSL lines shipped worldwide and an overall market share of 42% for 2006. This is almost 4 times more than its closest competitor. More than 135 customers have adopted the ISAM product family globally – including 80% of the top 20 DSL operators in the world. Alcatel-Lucent is also engaged in more than 60 FTTx projects around the world, more than 30 of which are with GPON.
