Doug Cohn Named to New Position of Senior Vice President, Music Marketing and Talent, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group

Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group has named Doug Cohn to the newly created position of Senior Vice President Music Marketing and Talent, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group. The announcement was made by Pam Kaufman, Chief Marketing Officer, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, and Paula Kaplan, Executive Vice President, Talent and West Coast General Manager, Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, both to whom Cohn will report.

In this new role, Mr. Cohn will spearhead the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group’s music business, promoting new and existing Nickelodeon music franchises. Nickelodeon recently partnered with Sony Music Label Group to co- develop, co-produce and co-finance television and music projects over the next four years. The first joint venture is The Naked Brothers Band original music soundtrack releasing Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007. Mr. Cohn serves as the soundtrack’s Executive in Charge of Music, and is responsible for the marketing and creative execution for the CD release. He will oversee the product management for future Sony/Nickelodeon music releases and help in the development of any music-themed television series.

As part of Mr. Cohn’s responsibilities, he will oversee the integration of music-related content into all lines of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group’s business, and will market music across all platforms, including on-air and digital media. He also will play a key role in guiding artist development for Nickelodeon Music, partnering with the Nick talent and production teams, and serving as the main point of contact for Nickelodeon within the music industry. Additionally, Mr. Cohn will work with music supervisors, producers, writers, publishers and record companies, to secure musical content for projects and production needs.

Prior to joining Nickelodeon, Mr. Cohn held various posts over his 13 years at Atlantic Records. Most recently, as the Senior Vice President of Video Promotion and Production, he oversaw all music video production, promotion and marketing initiatives for the label. Throughout his tenure at Atlantic, he was instrumental in the success of musicians such as matchbox twenty, Death Cab for Cutie, T.I., Panic! At the Disco, Jewel, and Simple Plan. In 2006, his work helped secure more nominations and wins at the MTV Video Music Awards and the 1st Annual BET Hip Hop Awards than any other label. And his efforts on more than 100 music videos garnered him several Billboard Music Video Awards from 1992 to 2000.

Mr. Cohn is also a veteran of MTV Networks, having been at VH1 from 2000- 2002 as Director of VH1 Music and Talent Relations, responsible for interacting with record labels, managers and artists, and helping steer the channel’s musical direction. He guided VH1’s early support of Alicia Keys, Norah Jones and Nelly Furtado, and contributed to the success of the TV series Behind The Music, and Storytellers, as well as musical concerts including the Vogue Fashion Awards, and Divas Live, which raised awareness and funds for VH1’s Save The Music Foundation. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored Mr. Cohn by recognizing his contribution to VH1 Save The Music Foundation’s 2000 Governors Prime-Time Emmy Award.

Mr. Cohn graduated magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
