WEBWIRE

DALLAS.– For the fifth consecutive year, Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. has been recognized for its outstanding record of subcontracting with minority and women-owned businesses.

Vought recently received the “Million Dollar Roundtable” award, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and MBN (Minority Business News) Texas magazine.

Six Vought buyers also received awards as “Million Dollar Buyers” for individually purchasing
$1 million or more in goods and services from minority and women-owned companies during the previous fiscal year. It is the fifth consecutive year for two Vought buyers to achieve these results.

“Supporting small and disadvantaged companies is a sound business practice,” said Alan Young, general manager of supply chain management for Vought. “These companies are the backbone of our nation’s economy. Allowing them to compete provides opportunities for all of us to grow and prosper.”

Vought’s supplier diversity program actively pursues qualified subcontractors through outreach programs, trade fairs, conferences and small business expos throughout the country.
