Affordable Cockpit Display Retrofit Increases Safety and Efficiency, Enables Advanced Charts, Maps and Graphics for Business Jets

NBAA, ATLANTA.- Honeywell (NYSE: HON) announced today that it will offer liquid crystal display (LCD) flight deck upgrades for its Primus and SPZ-series of avionic systems to increase aircraft performance, efficiency and safety.

The new DU-875 and DU-885 LCD-based multi-function cockpit displays enable extensive features for business jets including advanced charts, maps and graphics on the Primus 1000, 2000 and 2000XP as well as the SPZ-8400, 8500, and some SPZ-8000 avionics systems. The displays, developed by Barco exclusively for Honeywell, also offer growth capability for next-generation communication, navigation, surveillance and air traffic management upgrades.

“These LCD displays ensure our flight decks continue to provide business jets with gold-standard reliability, flexibility, and operational performance” said Rob Wilson, President, Honeywell Business and General Aviation. “Honeywell’s DU-875/885 flight decks also provide an easy upgrade solution for customers. Replacing our existing CRT displays with LCDs decreases downtime and expense and removes the need for additional pilot training required during a traditional full cockpit replacement.”

The technology will enable XM graphical weather, electronic charts, maps and video displays. It will boost overall efficiency by reducing aircraft weight and cooling requirements while increasing system reliability.
