NEW YORK.-COMEDY CENTRAL Records announced today that superstar comedian and actor George Lopez will be the first performer on the network’s burgeoning label to release a CD digitally before its retail store release. “George Lopez: American’s Mexican” CD will be available for download to own from iTunes and other major download sites on Tuesday, September 25 and will then be available for purchase in stores nationwide and at www.shop.comedycentral.com on Tuesday, October 9.

Lopez is one of the premier comedic talents in the entertainment industry today. His latest CD was recorded live in front of a packed house at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix, Arizona and will be released by COMEDY CENTRAL Records. Taken directly from his performance, Lopez delivers a hilarious routine touching on his own Latino roots, immigration and naturalization, modern-day kids, old-school values, interracial relationships, the E. coli outbreak and the future.

Lopez maintains an extremely active schedule as a stand-up comedian, is a sell-out attraction coast-to-coast and has headlined concerts at many prestigious venues. He is the co-creator, writer, producer and star of the Warner Bros. Television-produced sitcom, “George Lopez,” which aired for five seasons on ABC. His past CD, “Team Leader,” was nominated for a 2004 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.
