Verizon Wireless and Arizona State University Athletics team up for a HopeLine phone collection.

CHANDLER, AZ — Verizon Wireless and the Arizona State University (ASU) Athletics Department invite you to help curb domestic violence in our community.

Fans attending the Sun Devils’ home game on Saturday, September 22 can donate their no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories to the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program. Drop boxes will be located by the Verizon Wireless vehicle on the southwest plaza at Sun Devil Stadium from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Through the HopeLine program, no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any service provider are recycled, or refurbished and sold. Verizon Wireless uses the proceeds to award grants and refurbished wireless phones with airtime to non-profit human services and law enforcement agencies to aid victims of domestic violence.

In the past two years, Verizon Wireless has donated nearly $140,000 in HopeLine grants to domestic violence agencies as well as 125 HopeLine wireless phones, each with one year of airtime, to domestic violence agencies throughout Arizona.

Wireless phones and equipment donations are accepted at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores nationwide and select BJ’s locations. For information about where to send phones or how to do a collection, please visit www.verizonwireless.com/hopeline.
