KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual Proofing Option Provides Consistent Color, Saves Time

ROCHESTER, N.Y., October 19 -- Kodak is pleased to announce that Classic Color of Broadview, Ill. is the first commercial printer in the Chicago area to offer its customers a complete, contract-quality, monitor-based virtual proofing workflow from Kodak.

Classic Color will install KODAK MATCHPRINT Virtual for InSite and MATCHPRINT Virtual PressProof contract-quality virtual proofing software to extend color process control throughout the workflow. Monitor proofing will be used upstream for content creation and production approvals, and downstream for press-side proofing. Classic Color customers will enjoy the convenience of collaborative proofing, annotation and color approval throughout the production process -- from wherever they are in the world.

MATCHPRINT Virtual for InSite proofing software allows print buyers to view proofs on calibrated monitors at different locations with consistent and accurate color. The on-screen color will also match a hard-copy proof when viewed under the controlled lighting conditions of a light booth. Unlike other remote proofing systems, MATCHPRINT Virtual for InSite software operates directly on production files. There is no need to copy or convert files, and no additional workflow steps are required.

MATCHPRINT Virtual for InSite software reduces job-cycle time by providing consistent color management across multi-monitor system configurations, ensuring effective real-time collaboration with accurate color viewing, saving on the cost of making and shipping multiple proofs.

MATCHPRINT Virtual PressProof software is Kodak’s press-side monitor proofing solution. Using SWOP-certified MATCHPRINT Virtual Proofing technology software, PressProof enables the same color-accurate proofs viewed by agencies, designers and prepress to be viewed during the print run. This enables easier color matching and faster make-readies. MATCHPRINT Virtual PressProof software uses standardized proofs and consistent color management, enabling printers to decrease their cost of making and shipping multiple proofs.
