Integration of Adobe LiveCycle and AMS Advantage® ERP Suite to Deliver Improved Access to Constituent Services and Increased Efficiencies

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Oct. 19, 2005 — CGI-AMS Inc., the wholly-owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. (TSX: GIB.SV.A; NYSE: GIB), and Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today announced plans to provide state and local governments with innovative process automation solutions through tighter integration between the AMS Advantage® 3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite and Adobe® LiveCycle™ software.

The combination will make it easier for agencies to extend processes - such as grants administration, electronic invoicing, contract management, and employee benefits enrollment - beyond the enterprise, helping to improve access to constituent services and increase efficiencies at all levels of state and local government.

“CGI-AMS provides industry-leading ERP applications for the state and local government market, delivering greater fiscal responsibility, improved efficiency, and enhanced accessibility,” said Charlie Johnson, vice president, CGI-AMS. “Adobe brings expertise in solving specific and complex document processing problems for its customers. Together, CGI-AMS and Adobe are closing the gap between documents, people and enterprise systems to ensure efficient business processes at all levels of government.”

“Despite years of increased automation, a majority of processes are handled manually,” said Mark Skinner, director of Global Alliances for the Government Sector at Adobe. “As a result of the collaboration between CGI-AMS and Adobe, state and local governments will be able to manage and coordinate interactions between constituents, employees and suppliers whether manual or automated across multiple channels, departments, agencies, and geographies.”

By blending strategic services, industry expertise, and best-in-class software, AMS Advantage offers a unique combination of functional breadth and technical flexibility. The ERP suite for state and local governments is a web-based solution that effectively manages an agency’s financial, procurement, human resources, budgeting, and reporting needs. AMS Advantage 3 is designed and built from the ground up to exclusively support the business of government. The ERP suite employs a pervasive government fund accounting model as its foundation—using open Web technology standards to simplify system deployment and enable collaboration with external systems. This flexible design leaves governments with greater process efficiency, integrated functionality, lower cost of ownership, and improved customer service and decision making.

Adobe LiveCycle makes it easier for organizations to more effectively create and share information across the extended enterprise, by combining the business logic and data exchange capabilities of XML with the visual fidelity, security and reliability of Adobe PDF. Adobe LiveCycle transforms static documents into Intelligent Documents that enable people to participate in document-based workflows - using only the Adobe Reader® or a Web Browser - that integrate with AMS Advantage. These intelligent documents can be pre-populated with information stored within AMS Advantage, and information captured within the Intelligent Document can be delivered back into the applications. Adobe LiveCycle also makes it easy for organizations to apply business and security policies and rules to business processes helping to ensure compliance with corporate, industry and government mandates.

In the first phase of the relationship the companies are planning to deliver product integration between AMS Advantage 3 and Adobe LiveCycle. The product integration is expected to be available this year and can provide joint customers with reduced set-up time and lower maintenance costs. The companies are targeting the state and local government sectors, and are planning to engage in sales and joint marketing activities.
