Harris Corporation Unveils Enhancements to Broadcast Media Analysis Server System at IBC2007

WEBWIRE

At IBC2007, Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announces new enhancements to its Videotek® QuiC™ media analysis server system.

The QuiC media analysis server has been enhanced with new features and functionality that extend its interoperability, including the following:

Enhanced versatility through the addition of support for third-party server systems/wrapper formats. QuiC™ series models MA-1100, MA-1200 and MA-1250 now feature MXF-compliant server compatibility and support for QuickTime (MA-1250 also supports LXF). These enhancements enable QuiC™ to work with many of the most commonly used broadcast servers, in addition to the Harris® NEXIO™ server.

Support for Avid® DNX HD codecs. QuiC™ works well with Avid® desktop editors and can be used to share HD codec information and simplify editing interfaces. The QuiC™ MA-1250 model comes standard with one codec, and additional codecs (MPEG-2, DV and Avid® DNX HD) are available.

Optional RAID storage (2 TB) with software RAID controller.

Addition of output capability. The QuiC™ MA-1250 model allows for two independent audio/video outputs.

Closer analysis through a new capability to jog/shuttle files with a mouse wheel (MA-1250), allowing in-depth monitoring with an (optional) Videotek® VTM-4100 on-screen monitor.
The QuiC media analysis server is part of the media transport and channel release offerings in the Harris Broadcast Communications ONE initiative to deliver interoperable workflow solutions that span the entire broadcast delivery chain. The unique Harris approach brings together highly integrated and cost-effective products that are ideal for emerging media business models and for customers upgrading media operations to digital and high-definition services.
