EPA offers improved news delivery service

WEBWIRE

Getting the latest environmental news just got a little easier. The public and members of the media can now receive automatic, customized access to news from the Environmental Protection Agency via emails powered by GovDelivery.

EPA Region 6, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, will begin using the GovDelivery email subscription management system on Sept. 7, 2007.

The service is free and allows subscribers to receive EPA news electronically and tailored by topic. Topics range from air and water news to research and grants. Individuals and news organizations can sign up by visiting the EPA Region 6 Web site. A confirmation email will be sent to verify successful enrollment and the news topics selected. Subscribers can update their news preferences or stop their subscription at any time by clicking on the link provided at the bottom of each email.

Subscribers to EPA’s current email news service will automatically be enrolled in the new system and are encouraged to update their subscription by choosing to receive releases on specific news topics or all news topics.

Emails from the new subscription service will show “U.S. EPA” as the sender from the address usaepa@govdelivery.com. “Region 6” will be in the subject line of each email, and the content of the news release will be in the body of the email in plain text format.
