Bakersfield Continues to Lead the Pack in Kern County New Home Sales

Kern County, California-The number of new home developments in Kern County continues to expand, reaching 94 actively selling detached projects, along with one condominium conversion project in Bakersfield. The City of Bakersfield, the largest city in the county, continues to lead the way in actively selling projects, resulting in the highest sales volume for the quarter.
According to the ResidentialTrends second quarter survey published by Marketpointe Realty Advisors, Inc., the vast majority of detached net sales continue to be located in the City of Bakersfield with 81 percent of the sales located there. The next largest percentage of detached net sales occurred in Delano with 7 percent. The remaining 12 percent were split between Tehachapi (6 percent), McFarland (3 percent), Rosamond (2 percent), and Arvin (1 percent). Shafter and Wasco both had active projects with no net sales.
